I am a South Korean-Canadian artist, curator, and an educator. Drawing influence from both the fantasy and the lived experience within the Korean diaspora, I examine and question how we can rethink human-ecological systems in an industrialised society. Through my hyphenated identity and idiosyncratic lens, my works specifically reflect on the issues of single-use plastic, mass production, and consumerism and its impact on our contemporary society. By using climate crisis as a metaphor in relation to my identity, I question different means to articulate the visualisation of the paradigmatic dilemma through multi-disciplinary artworks in all forms of media such as performance art, video art, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
My artworks are often performed to manifest the complex nature of inter-connectivity with mental health, belonging, and climate change where the natural and technological worlds converge.
